ROBOCON 2011 INDIA.

SFIT at ROBOCON 2011 INDIA

SFITians showed a gr8 level of improvement in ROBOCON 2011 just in their 3rd year of participation.

Lacking the financial support and negligible staff support, the team comes up with great performance on their own......new technical ideas and improved mechanical structures, all was brought by the team.
IIT Kanpur struggling against a small team like this is just a powerful evidence for the same.
Though the team couldn't qualify for the quarters, the performance in the league was well praising.
No doubt theres more for the team to learn from the mistakes, but the spirit of 'die to do' will be always there in every SFITian.

Once again Congratulations to all sfit team members and hope that next time we'll come up with another bigger achievement!!
Improvement of 15-16 times cannot be just written in 15-16 lines!
Lets hope the college staff and the authorities, atleast now, will support the team!!!!(we know this is just a HOPE|!)

thanx....
N cheers for the SFIT ROBOCON team.

ROBOCON -2011

Robocon, short form of robotic contest is held among the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, ABU’s member countries. It was initiated on 24 august 2003 in Bangkok, Thailand.
It is an interesting game- cum- intellectual exercise for enthusiastic engineers and their encouraging instructors, determined to create machines for producing the desired results.
In the era of constantly evolving technology, the event is a platform for young engineers to exhibit their talents to meet the growing demands of the industry.
Participation in this activity is a cutthroat competitive experience from concept design of a system of robots programmed to perform according to rules of the game played with high precision. All this is to be done based on a theme declared by the host country. International Robocon is sponsored by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) members, which include Doordarshan (Prasarbharati) of India and other organizations of member nations. Doordarshan as a member has been organizing all activities in India for last five years with collaboration with Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) Pune, India

CYBORG

CYBORG

The melding of man and machine is one of those things that seems both a logical extension of the technological age and a thoroughly repulsive condition that changes man into just another artefact. The idea of reducing man to the level of his own creations is probably the reason why it never commanded a better position than on the periphery of Future Past.

Still, being as strong as a steam engine and as invulnerable as a tank has its attractions, so it isn't surprising that cyborgs popped up occasionally as early as the 1930s.
