Robocon, short form of robotic contest is held among the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, ABU’s member countries. It was initiated on 24 august 2003 in Bangkok, Thailand.
It is an interesting game- cum- intellectual exercise for enthusiastic engineers and their encouraging instructors, determined to create machines for producing the desired results.
In the era of constantly evolving technology, the event is a platform for young engineers to exhibit their talents to meet the growing demands of the industry.
Participation in this activity is a cutthroat competitive experience from concept design of a system of robots programmed to perform according to rules of the game played with high precision. All this is to be done based on a theme declared by the host country. International Robocon is sponsored by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) members, which include Doordarshan (Prasarbharati) of India and other organizations of member nations. Doordarshan as a member has been organizing all activities in India for last five years with collaboration with Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) Pune, India.
